Iberian mining is about to experience one of its most important events.

From October 13 to 15, 2024, the city of Seville and its surroundings will host the 4th Iberian Mining Rescue Trophy (TIRM), a competition that will test the best mining rescue teams in the Iberian Peninsula. Organized by the Iberian Mining Rescue Committee (CIRM) with the collaboration of EASTAV GLOBAL, this event is the meeting point for sharing knowledge, refining techniques and strengthening emergency response, rescue and safety in
Iberian mines.

What is the Iberian Mining Rescue Trophy?

The Iberian Mining Rescue Committee (CIRM) was constituted by a group of Spanish and Portuguese experts related to various areas of mine safety and emergency, who in turn accumulated many years of experience in positions of responsibility in different mining operations, both in the Iberian Peninsula and in the rest of the world.
The Iberian Mining Rescue Events originate from the initiative of the Iberian Mining Rescue Committee (CIRM) to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience regarding safety and emergency response in complexes
miners in general.

The Iberian Mining Rescue Trophy (TIRM) was created with the objective of promoting the encounter between the Iberian mining rescue brigades with the objective of improving capacity and technical knowledge in response to emergencies and rescue operations in operations in the Iberian Peninsula, also giving the opportunity to the presence of expert brigade members from various countries.

In this 4th edition of the TIRM, rescue teams from Spain and Portugal will compete in a series of challenges designed to simulate real emergency situations. Each of these tests will evaluate your abilities to act quickly and effectively in highly complex situations, from underground rescues to fitness tests.

This event is not just a competition, but also a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and learn from some of the most renowned experts in the mining industry worldwide.

An Event that Strengthens Cross-Border Cooperation

Since its inception, the CIRM has promoted cooperation between Spain and Portugal to improve responses to mine emergencies. This year, the TIRM will not only continue to build that bridge of collaboration, but will take it to the next level with the participation of key companies and entities in the sector.

This cooperation has already been triggered between Matsa and Somincor, providing support in the face of a real event.
