The next March 22, 2025, EASTAV GLOBAL will be the meeting point for rope access professionals, hosting the IRATA International Instructors and Advisors Workshop.

This event will bring together industry experts to carry out a Sharing on issues of the IRATA International standard, encouraging debate and continuous improvement within the framework of IRATA International, the world leader in working at height through rope access.

A space for exchange and improvement of the sector

During the day, attendees will be able to share experiences, analyze new challenges in the sector and discuss IRATA updates and guidelines. A meeting designed to strengthen the network of professionals, optimize procedures and continue to raise standards of safety and effectiveness in rope access.

Points to be covered:

  1. Descent with a victim through a single anchor deviation

Revision of clause 6.8.4.2.1 of TACS about the descent with a victim through a single anchor deviation. Discussion about how this maneuver is trained and evaluated at level 2.

  1. Preventing falling objects

Discussion on the sufficiency of current training and evaluation procedures to highlight the importance of preventing objects from falling.
Analysis of the standard ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 on the prevention of falling objects and their implementation in different regions.

  1. Incident report

Analysis of the new Incident Report poster and its use in improving incident reporting in training.
Discussion about what training incidents should be reported according to the IRATA Incident Reporting Procedure [FM-021ENG] and the Incident Reporting Guide [GU-265ENG].

  1. Hazard identification and risk assessment

Revision of clause 6.2.3 of TACS on risk assessment and hazard management in rope access.
Discussion on assessment methods and training in hazard identification at level 3.

  1. Online theory exam for level 3

Evaluation of the implementation of the procedures in the Guide for Candidates to IRATA Evaluations [GU-381 ENG].
Discussion of possible improvements in the evaluation process.

  1. Prerequisites for evaluation

Analysis of common problems in the Verification of logs And the maintenance of training ratios.

  1. Practical exercise — allowable clearance on blockers

Demonstrations on situations where situations may develop in which there is slack on blockers and how to mitigate their adverse effects.
Discussion of key exercises of TACS:

  • Knot crossing on a medium rope (6.6.11).
  • Uphill passage of obstructions (6.6.12).
  • Rising rescue using only the victim's ropes (6.8.3.2.2b).
  • Transfer rescue at height (6.8.7).
  1. Other topics of interest

Discussion on specific risks or problems in different regions.
Suggested topics for future workshops by IRATA Advisors and Instructors.
