IRATA International Workshop at EASTAV GLOBAL — Seville, March 22, 2025

On March 22nd, we had the honor of hosting in our facilities EASTAV GLOBAL Seville The IRATA International Workshop, a key event for the vertical work and rope access sector.
This workshop had two main objectives: promote the exchange of information and current practices for continuing professional development, and collect experiences and points of view that can guide future IRATA decisions at the international level.
A technical meeting at the highest level
- Maneuver with victim: simple anchor deviation step
The meaning of “through” was analyzed in clause 6.8.4.2.1 of the TACS, and how it should be interpreted in Level 2 training and evaluation. Possible discrepancies in this key rescue maneuver were also discussed. - Preventing falling objects
Current procedures, common discrepancies and the scope of standards such as ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 were reviewed. The focus on the type of object versus the action of dropping it was discussed. - Incident Notification
The new IRATA notification poster was presented and documents FM-021ENG and GU-265ENG were analyzed. It was discussed which incidents should be reported, including quasi-accidents and particular situations as single points of suspension. - Hazard identification and risk assessment
Clause 6.2.3 of the TACS. Level 3 candidates must identify common risks and demonstrate understanding of the process through theoretical or practical exercises. The usefulness of the WASA report was also discussed. - Level 3 online theory exam
Review of evaluation procedures according to documents MP-377ENG and GU-381ENG. Possible improvements and the clarity of the new processes were discussed. - Prerequisites for evaluation
The verification of logs and the appropriate application of training rates were evaluated. - Practical exercise — Clearance on elevators
Practical demonstrations were carried out related to the passage of knots, obstacles, rescues with their own ropes and in the middle of a transfer. - AOB (Other Relevant Matters) and proposed topics for future workshops according to the particularities of each region.

Objectives achieved
- Promote the exchange of real experiences between IRATA technicians
- Establish and reinforce good working practices at height
- Consolidate key technical and regulatory knowledge for the sector
